When families book PeNotary

Before a surgery or procedure

Healthcare directives and POAs sometimes need to be signed urgently before a procedure. We come to the hospital and work at a pace that respects the patient and the family.

Moving to a new care facility

When a parent transfers from a hospital to rehab or assisted living, paperwork often needs updating. We handle all the signatures in one visit.

Family flying in from out of town

Adult children coordinating around work schedules and flights. We offer evenings and weekends so everyone can sign while the family is together.

Attorney sends updated documents

Your attorney prepares the paperwork. We follow their instructions exactly — signatures, witnesses, and document handling done the way they specify.

How it works

  1. Confirm location and details

Tell us the facility name, room or unit number, parking instructions, and whether your attorney needs witnesses arranged.

  2. Check IDs and signer readiness

Every signer needs a valid government photo ID. If ID isn't available, let us know in advance so we can work with your attorney on an alternative. We pause if there are any concerns about the signer's ability to understand the documents.

  3. Notarize the documents

We handle the signatures, witness coordination, and any oaths required. Everything is recorded in our notary journal.

  4. Return your documents

Signed originals go back to you or your family. We can also send scanned copies to your attorney if needed.

Pricing snapshot

Healthcare appointments are priced the same as our other services — $2 per notarized signature (set by Georgia law) plus a travel fee based on your location. Bedside and after-hours visits may include an additional fee, quoted before booking.

Healthcare notary FAQs

What healthcare documents do you notarize most often?

Advance directives, Georgia-specific healthcare powers of attorney, HIPAA authorizations, POLST or portable orders when counsel or clinicians attach notary blocks, and supporting affidavits families bring from hospitals.

Will you meet us at a hospital or hospice suite?

Yes — PeNotary routinely visits Northside, Emory-affiliated campuses, and local hospice homes when facility policies allow. We coordinate quiet timing with nurse stations so signatures stay dignified.

Can you explain what each healthcare form means?

No — we stay inside notary duties. Nurses, social workers, or your attorney answer clinical or legal questions; we verify identity and witness signatures only.

Do Georgia healthcare directives require witnesses plus a notary?

Formal witness and notary requirements change with document type — your attorney's instructions and current Georgia statute govern; confirm witness counts when you book.

How do you handle HIPAA releases alongside directives?

When releases include jurats or acknowledgments, we execute those acts after confirming signer identity. We do not retain PHI beyond journal entries required for compliance.

How is pricing calculated for bedside visits?

Travel tier + per notarial act statutory fees + optional emergency premiums apply. Current fee caps are listed on our pricing page.
