General Mobile Notary

What is a mobile notary?
A mobile notary travels to your location — home, office, hospital, eldercare facility, or attorney office — to perform notarial acts. Instead of you going to a notary, the notary comes to you. Mandy serves North Fulton GA within 40 miles of Alpharetta.
What areas do you serve?
PeNotary covers a 40-mile radius from Alpharetta, GA including Roswell, Milton, Johns Creek, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Cumming, Woodstock, Marietta, and surrounding North Fulton communities. See our Locations page for the full service area.
What are your hours?
Standard hours are 7 AM to 9 PM, seven days a week. After-hours appointments are available with a surcharge — see our pricing page for details.
How quickly can you come to me?
Same-day appointments are available throughout North Fulton, scheduling permitting. Call (404) 781-9797 to confirm availability. Most appointments are scheduled 24-48 hours in advance.
Do you offer same-day appointments?
Yes — same-day appointments are available with a $25-$75 urgent surcharge based on timing. Call (404) 781-9797 for availability.

Pricing & Fees

What does a mobile notary cost in Georgia?
The Georgia statutory notarial act fee is $2.00 per act. PeNotary charges a separate mobile travel/convenience fee based on distance — starting at $25 within 5 miles of Alpharetta. See our pricing page for the full breakdown.
Is the $2 notarial act fee included in your service charge?
No — the $2 statutory fee per notarial act is itemized separately from the mobile travel/convenience fee. Both fees are disclosed in writing before your appointment.
Why is the travel fee separate from the notarial fee?
Georgia law caps the notarial act fee at $2.00. The travel/convenience fee covers our drive to your location, time, parking, fuel, and scheduling. Both are quoted upfront before service.
Do you charge extra for after-hours or weekend appointments?
Yes — after-hours appointments (after 9 PM), weekend appointments, and same-day urgent appointments all carry a $25-$75 surcharge depending on the timing and service. See pricing page.
What's your cancellation / no-show policy?
Cancellations made before PeNotary begins travel are not charged. If we've already traveled to your appointment location, the quoted mobile travel/convenience fee is due. See our pricing and fee disclosure for the full policy.

Documents & Requirements

What ID do I need to present?
Every signer must present a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID at the appointment — driver's license, state ID, passport, or military ID. ID must show the signer's name as it appears on the document.
Can you notarize for someone who can't sign physically?
If a signer cannot sign due to physical limitation but can direct another person to sign on their behalf, Georgia law allows for signature by mark or signature by another. The signer must still be present, alert, willing, and able to communicate. For complex capacity questions, consult an attorney before booking.
Can you notarize for someone in a hospital or hospice?
Yes — bedside notarization at hospitals, hospice facilities, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing facilities is one of our specialty services. The signer must be alert, willing, and able to communicate. Facility visit fees range $65-$125. Call (404) 781-9797 to schedule.
What documents can you NOT notarize?
PeNotary does not notarize: documents being signed under coercion, documents where the signer cannot communicate willingness, documents that are blank or incomplete in critical fields, or documents that violate Georgia notary law. We also do not conduct Georgia real estate closings, which by law require a Georgia-licensed attorney.
Do you provide witnesses?
If a document requires witnesses in addition to notarization, witness coordination is $25 per witness when PeNotary can arrange it. Many documents (wills, trusts, healthcare directives) have specific witness requirements set by Georgia law or the document's drafting attorney — please confirm requirements with your attorney before booking.

Apostille Courier Service

What is an apostille and when do I need one?
An apostille is an authentication certificate that verifies a notarized or government-issued document is valid for use in another country that's party to the Hague Apostille Convention. You may need one for international adoption, foreign work permits, dual citizenship applications, foreign marriage, or other international filings.
Are you an apostille agent?
No. Georgia does not license or certify "apostille agents" — that title is not a real credential in Georgia. PeNotary provides apostille COURIER service: we retrieve your authenticated document from GSCCCA (Georgia Superior Court Clerks' Cooperative Authority) on your behalf, saving you the trip downtown.
How long does the apostille process take?
GSCCCA apostille processing time varies by current workload — we'll confirm current turnaround when you book. Our courier service typically completes the round trip within 1-3 business days after document submission to GSCCCA, plus their processing time.
What's your apostille service fee?
Apostille courier coordination starts at $95 plus GSCCCA government fees (currently $3 per document) and any shipping costs. Additional documents in the same courier trip are $15-$25 each. See pricing page for full detail.
Which documents can be apostilled in Georgia?
Georgia-issued documents eligible for apostille include birth certificates, marriage certificates, FBI background checks, notarized affidavits, court records, and corporate documents. GSCCCA is the only Georgia agency authorized to issue apostilles. For documents from other states, you'll need to use that state's apostille-issuing authority.

Attorney & B2B Services

Do you offer real estate closing services?
No. Georgia is an attorney-state for real estate closings — per O.C.G.A. § 15-19-51 and In re UPL Advisory Opinion 2003-2, only a Georgia-licensed attorney may conduct a real estate closing. PeNotary does not offer loan signing services, witness-only closings, or any form of real estate closing. For attorney referrals, contact the Georgia State Bar Find-a-Lawyer service.
Can you notarize for attorney-prepared estate documents?
Yes — this is a primary service. PeNotary supports Georgia attorneys with mobile notarial appointments for attorney-prepared wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and related estate planning documents. See our Mobile Notary for Attorneys page for details.
Do you serve law firms on a recurring basis?
Yes — PeNotary works with Georgia estate planning, elder-law, immigration, business, and family law firms on a recurring basis. We offer net-30 invoicing after 3 completed appointments. Contact us to discuss a partnership.
Do you accept Snapdocs / NSA assignments?
No. PeNotary does not accept Snapdocs assignments, NSA loan signing platform assignments, or any third-party real estate closing assignments. Georgia is an attorney-state and PeNotary's attorney-directed mobile notary work is coordinated directly with Georgia-licensed attorneys, not through national signing platforms.

Online & Remote

Do you do Remote Online Notarization (RON)?
No. Remote Online Notarization is not operationally available for PeNotary in Georgia. All PeNotary notarizations are in-person, mobile appointments where Mandy travels to the signer's location.
Can you notarize over video call?
No. Georgia notarization requires the signer to be physically present in the notary's presence. PeNotary is a mobile service — we come to your location for in-person notarization.
Why is in-person required?
Georgia notary law requires the signer to personally appear before the notary at the time of notarization. This protects against fraud and ensures the notary can verify the signer's identity and willingness. PeNotary's mobile service brings the notary to you so in-person notarization is convenient — whether at home, office, hospital, or facility.
